Gabrielle Union’s Daughter Kaavia Looks Just Like Dad Dwyane Wade in Heartwarming New Selfies

As Kaavia James gets older, she looks more and more like her dad Dwyane Wade every day. Gabrielle Union shared new photos with her 5-year-old and her husband, and you can tell Shady Baby stole her dad’s whole face.

“I think I like this little life 💖” The Perfect Find star captioned a new post on Instagram . She’s hanging out with her family in these cute selfies, with Union wearing a green sweatshirt and straw visor. Wade’s arm was around his wife, smiling for the camera and showing off his “Girl Dad” hat. Kaavia stands behind her parents, smiling with her long curly hair down. She has the exact same nose, big brown eyes, and smile as her dad. In addition to the happy selfies, Union also shared a photo of text that read: “keep writing your fairytale.”

“I love this❤️” Viola Davis commented. Alyssa Milano wrote, “She’s magic. Apple trees make apples. Love the 3 of you.”

“She looks just like dad 🌸,” another wrote.

Kaavia also has some of her former NBA star’s talent as well. In a recent video posted to Kaavia’s Instagram account (run by her parents), she wore a cute white-and-orange striped tank top and jeans, with a crossbody flower purse. She stands on a basketball court before a Chicago Sky game in the video, holding a tiny, kid-sized basketball in her hand. When Kaavia tosses the ball in a pretty arch toward a hoop, it looks effortless.

The video also shares scenes from the day, where Kaavia enjoyed watching the game on the sidelines with her parents. “the genes speak for themselves 😅” the cute video was captioned. “Psst.. next time tap me in @chicagosky .”

In a 2023 interview with Parents, Wade opened up about the lessons he tries to teach his youngest daughter. “We give her the freedom to have a say in her space, her appearance, and the things she wants to do,” he said. “The only way we’re going to know our child is by listening to her, watching her, and seeing what she’s interested in. For us, in the Black community, we have to make sure our kids understand how to stand on their own two feet and advocate for themselves.”

“It’s on us to teach Kaavia her power early on and a lot of that comes from individuality,” he added.
