Robert MacIntyre might not have given much thought to the clubs that helped him to the Canadian Open title – but we’ve taken a peek.

MacIntyre had a lot going on but had his father out acting as a caddy which might have been just the help the homesick Scotsman needed to record his first PGA Tour title win.

His father Dougie had answered a late call to step in as an emergency caddie and couldn’t believe that he found himself at the heart of a truly magical PGA Tour moment.

“Unbelievable. I’m a grass-cutter,” Dougie said, pausing in his emotions. “Not a caddie. Not a caddie. Honestly, it’s unbelievable.”

The purse of more than $1.6m has given MacIntyre a newfound sense of freedom and he said he might jet off home for a spell before rejoining the PGA Tour.

“No, Dad’s on the flight home on Monday,” MacIntyre said when asked if his father would be on his bag for the Memorial at Muirfield.

“I think me and my girlfriend might go home on Monday as well and just have a helluva party back home because this is incredible.”

MacIntyre’s actual sets of clubs are a literal mixed bag, albeit one dominated by Titleist.

He uses a Titleist TSR2 driver, Titleist 620 CB irons, Titleist Vokey Design SM10 and SM9 wedges with a single WedgeWorks wedge thrown in for good measure.

For his championship ball, he also uses the Titleist Pro V1.

He is one of the few players on tour to use a hybrid, deploying the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue in place of a long iron.

MacIntyre also uses TaylorMade on the green as he favours the Spider Tour putter.

His Cobra Aerojet LS 3-wood is something of an outlier club, but it just goes to show that your bag should be filled with the equipment that you want.
