NC Ranks in the Top 10 Nationally With the Most Mail Carriers Bitten by Dogs

NC ranks high nationally for a lot of things. The state has some of the best beaches, cuisines, businesses, and school systems. However, NC also ranks high for one other thing that most people may not be aware of - it is a top 10 state with the most mail carriers bitten by dogs.

According to a new report by QC News, NC ranked #8 nationally with the most mail carriers bitten by dogs. According to the United States Postal Service, in 2022 146 mail carriers were bitten by dogs and 185 suffered dog bites in 2023.

The USPS recently started an initiative to spread awareness about mail carrier safety to dog owners this week.
