"Being well-rested means Frankfort Fire Department staff will be at the top of their game when an emergency call comes in." The donation was in response to Melanie&nbsp;Cederholm writing letters to furniture stores requesting donations to replace old, worn-out mattresses after she had seen a news segment about a similar donation of beds to a fire department. "It is greatly appreciated," said fire Chief Mike Cederholm. "The previous ones were uncomfortable and very old. This is something that will give our responders a good night's sleep." Cederholm said the department has overnight staff members who monitor calls and try to get some sleep between responding to calls for service. "It certainly isn't beauty rest," Mike said. "When you're on duty, it's already an uncomfortable sleep because you're always listening to the radio traffic. However, when you can catch that sleep, it helps to get some rest." </div></body>
