BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Louisiana man will be featured on NBC’s newest season of “American Ninja Warrior.” This will mark his third appearance on the show.

Wes Meador said he appeared in Seasons 13 and 14. Season 13 was filmed in Seattle in 2021, and Season 14 was filmed in San Antonio in 2022. Meador fell on the third obstacle in both seasons.

He said he started training for the show in 2018.

“I started in 2018, I did not like how I looked, 240 pounds at the time. My wife and I started fitness training in 2018,” said Meador. “I dropped from 240 to 200 pounds for Season 14 and then dropped to 190 pounds for Season 16.”

Meador plans to represent the National Stuttering Association . He said they have partnered with him for each season he has been on “American Ninja Warrior.” He was named 2023 Advocate of the Year by the group.

Competitors on “American Ninja Warrior” are competing for a $1 million grand prize. Season 16 is shot in Los Angeles, California, and premieres at 7 p.m. Monday, June 3.
