As any twin parent will tell you, raising two babies at once can be twice as challenging as a singleton — but it can also be double the fun! Twins form a super special bond from the very beginning, and getting to witness their relationship grow is definitely a privilege...even though you might be two times as sleep-deprived.

In an adorable video posted on June 2, newborn twin brothers are lying side-by-side when they suddenly make eye contact...and then the smiling starts!

"My heart could explode. I hope they'll always be best buds," wrote @meagangarr . This is one of those moments that's almost too cute to even handle. Commenters loved watching this milestone twin exchange.

"They're like hey I know you lol," wrote Melanie Lynn.

"The way they keep saying 'haaayy' to each other," wrote Jessika Trehern.

"You can CLEARLY see who is the introvert and who is the extrovert...you have a BEAUTIFUL crew," wrote Furry Boi381.

It's true that many twin parents report strong personality differences in their babies, sometimes even during sonogram appointments!

When Do Twins Start Interacting With Each Other?

Experts say that twins start interacting earlier than you might expect, according to Romper — as in, before they're even born.

"Researchers at the University of Turin and the University of Parma in Italy found that twin babies begin reaching for their sibling at 14 weeks gestation. The scientists concluded that twin fetuses are aware of one another's presence and take an interest and comfort in their familiar neighbor. This begins even before fetal sense of hearing develops, so a twin's very first experience of anything outside of his own being is the life of his brother or sister . Amazingly, the researchers found that by the 18th week of pregnancy, the twins spent more time touching their sibling than themselves."

The strong connection between twins can be a source of comfort to babies (and even adults), according to Psychology Today.

"They share a primary attachment that is irreplaceable and forms a lifelong attachment and bond as well as an indelible identity. Sharing their in utero life is the beginning of their nonverbal communication and their need for closeness. And comfort can be found in physical proximity, where a sense of oneness is maintained and often endures throughout their lifespans."

The smiles shared by the baby boys in this video are only the beginning!
