HINTON, WV (WVNS) — This week is National Fishing and Boating Week and people are out and about on waters across the state.

Beware of certain rules and regulations when fishing this summer

Bluestone Lake in Bluestone State Park had several boats out on the water and anglers of all ages fishing from the banks.

Isaac and Joseph Williams are visiting from North Carolina and went out on Bluestone Lake for the first time.

They said they’re looking forward to the kayaking trip.

“Sounds like a good idea,” said Isaac.

“Good idea, beautiful, so thought that’d be a lot of fun,” said Joseph.

West Virginia is home to hundreds of creeks, lakes, rivers, and waterways. According to West Virginia Tourism the top three most popular lakes in the state are Summersville Lake in Nicholas County, Cheat Lake in Monongalia County, and Stonewall Jackson Lake in Lewis County.
