HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A man is facing drug charges following an alleged attempt to shoplift from a Dollar General.

According to an affidavit, EPD officers were dispatched to the Dollar General store on S. Weinbach Avenue for a hold alarm. The caller said there was one female and two males in the store for over an hour and were possibly on drugs.

The caller said one person, John Bolin, 49, tried to walk out of the store with air fresheners sticking out of his pocket.

Bolin claimed he bought them from another store, but they rang up as a Dollar General item.

EPD alleges Bolin wouldn’t keep his hands out of his pockets. He was placed into custody, and officers allegedly found two syringes and a clear pipe with burnt residue inside and a black and red zipper case with a clear baggie with a white crystal substance in the bag. The substance later tested positive for meth.

EPD says the weight was 10.4 grams, and Bolin had $425 on him in small amounts.
