Ballet flats are a major shoe staple , and everyone could benefit from owning at least one high-quality pair. That typically means you want to find a shoe that’s made from high-quality materials like leather, which doesn’t always come cheap.
But we’ve been able to score some great deals on this classic shoe style, most recently at T.J. Maxx. The retailer has a pair of ballet flats from Clarks that are over 50% off their original price, and they look so much like a designer pair that we’ve spotted from Saks Off 5th that cost 7x the price.
Clarks Leather Ubree15 Step Flats, $35 (was $75) at T.J. Maxx
When you think about what your typical ballet flat looks like, it’s very similar to this pair, but this version from Clarks has a couple of modern touches that we’re obsessed with. The usual rounded toe shape has been elevated by the square style that’s very trendy right now, and the thicker block heel also makes these flats feel more elegant.
The upper portion of this shoe is made from 100% genuine leather, which is shocking given their extra low $35 price. Some shoes that are made from faux leather are more expensive than this pair.
This pair from Jimmy Choo that we found at Saks Off 5th has so many similarities to the pair from Clarks. They both feature the chic square toe silhouette and have a similar tan brown hue. Both are understated, classic, and timeless, but the high-end option is not only more expensive, but also completely sold out right now.
Jimmy Choo Shay Leather Ballet Flats, $245 (was $450) at Saks Off 5th
The Jimmy Choo flats are out of the running, but we wanted to provide a clear comparison that proves just how chic the more affordable Clarks ballet flats look. What’s more is that they’re currently available from T.J. Maxx in a fantastic selection of sizes, which is rare for the retailer. If you’re thinking about getting these flats, get your hands on them before it’s too late.
