Four members of the Chicago Fire’s organization will be in action during the current international window and two members of Chicago Fire II will be fighting for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

Xherdan Shaqiri left the Fire early to join the Swiss National Team for warmups ahead of this year’s EURO tournament, which may be his final international competition. His Swiss side has two tune-ups in Switzerland before they begin the EUROs when they face off against Hungary on June 15.

Sergio Oregel was called into the US U19 squad by head coach Michael Nsien and will have two matches to make an impression after largely featuring for Chicago Fire II in 2024.

Omari Glasgow and Guyana are looking to earn a spot for the 2026 World Cup through CONCACAF qualifiers and have two crucial matchups away from home during this window. Guyana has to play their “home” match against Belize in Barbados because they do not have a facility that CONCACAF deems up to the minimum required standard.

David Tchetchao and Benin have two massive matches in Abidjan as they look to qualify for their first World Cup ever. The Fire II winger has come into his own over the last month with his club and will hope that success carries over to these two crucial ties for his national team.
