Heart Condition Slowing Country Music Star Down

Posting on Instagram, Carley Pearce informed her fans and concert ticket holders that her shows "might look a little bit different."

Pearce has been diagnosed with a condition called pericarditis, which is the inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart.

The Mayo Clinic states that the condition often causes sharp chest pain when the two layers of the pericardium rub against each other. It is also reported that the condition may go away without treatment if the correct steps are taken.

Pearce is doing all she can to follow the doctor's orders.

“I have always been transparent and honest about every part of my life so I feel like this deserves the same honesty,” the Country Music star said in a video posted to her page. “You guys know that I have been dealing with some health issues, and through that, I have developed something called pericarditis, which is a heart issue. I have been working with doctors and talking to my cardiologist, and I still want to be out on the road. It’s really important to me. But we have all decided that it is in my best interest as I’m healing to alter my shows a little bit.”

The idea behind changing her shows a little bit is to keep her heart rate down and "under control right now."

“That doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be completely fine,” she said. “It just means that right now, I have to take this seriously. So, if you are coming to the shows, if you are going to be a part of any of the amazing things we have going on with ‘Hummingbird’ it’ll be great. It just might look a little different so I’m asking for a little bit of grace.”

Just like she does for herself, she encouraged fans to listen to their bodies and take care of themselves.

She signed off of her video by stating, "I love you guys. I'll see you soon."
