Hayward Golf Course hosts 100th year event

The Hayward Golf Course will kick off its “100 Years of Golf” celebration with a nine-hole scramble and reception Saturday, June 8.

The nine-hole shotgun scramble will tee off at 3:30 p.m., followed by a reception with hors d’oeuvres and drinks from 6-7 p.m. in the Caddyshak.

At 7 p.m., there will be a “past and future of Hayward Golf Course” event, with brief remarks from select Lifetime Passholders and board members.

The scramble will be a fun, casual experience. There will be a couple of “special events” involving vintage golf clubs on select holes to add some additional excitement. The course encourages anyone who feels up to the challenge to dress in 1920s golf attire to pay homage to the course’s founding year. Sign up as an individual or with up to four players.

Entry fee is $45 per player (includes prizes, a drink ticket for redemption at the reception, and hors d’oeuvres).

The course also welcomes those who want to join in just for the reception starting at 6 p.m. The price is $25 per person (includes a drink ticket and hors d’oeuvres).
