    Hauger wins sheriff runoff Brian Smith Wed, 06/05/2024 - 7:47 am Charles “T-Bob” Hauger Charles “T-Bob” Hauger won the Jack County Sheriff’s runoff with challenger RC Langford in the Tuesday, May 28 election. Nearly 22% of voters cast ballots in the race. Hauger and Langford forced a runoff as the top two vote-getters in the original election Tuesday, March 4. Hauger had 41% of the vote with Langford receiving 32% of the vote in the original election. In the May 28 runoff, Hauger received 686 votes, or 53.3%, with Langford receiving 602 votes, or 46.7%. In the District 30 race for state senate, Republican Jace Yarbrough won Jack County with 53.7% of the vote with Brent Hagenbuch taking 46.3% of the vote. Throughout the district, however, Hagenbuch won the Republican nomination with 56.7% of the vote and Yarbrough garnering 43.3%. Hagenbuch will face Democratic nominee Dale Frey who had 57.1% of the vote with challenger Michael Braxton picking up 42.9% of the vote.
