The Mississippi Independent Cannabis Association (MICA) has announced a significant development in its support for members impacted by the Rapid Analytics Recall. Represented by Cory Ferraez of Ferraez & Associates, PLLC, two MICA members, FerrCann, Inc. and SADUJA, LLC, have obtained a judgment totaling over $6.3 million.

This judgment, the first of its kind in Mississippi, highlights a pivotal moment for local businesses dealing with the consequences of Rapid Analytics’ deviations from standard operating procedures and faulty testing practices, as noted by the Department of Health. The affected companies experienced considerable challenges due to the statewide administrative hold on products linked to Rapid’s deficiencies.

“We are pleased to have received the judgment for two of our members affected by the Rapid Analytics Recall,” said Pete Stokes, Co-founder and Board Member of MICA. “This outcome underscores the importance of our trade association and MICA’s commitment to advocating for our members’ interests.”

Jason McDonald, SADUJA Managing and MICA Board Member stated, “The damages awarded to SADUJA against Rapid Analytics are a significant step. The hold has impacted many in the industry, and Rapid must be held accountable for its role in this situation. This judgment represents an important resolution.”
