Stephen King Praises Bloody New Horror Film

Stephen King is singing the praises of a bloody new horror film.

The legendary writer behind horror classics The Shining, It , and The Dark Tower , voiced his appreciation of In A Violent Nature . Released 31 May, 2024, the film takes place almost entirely from the perspective of the killer.

King writes on Twitter, “If you need a slasher movie, this one will do the job. It's leisurely, almost languorous, but when the blood flows, it flows in buckets.” He’s not wrong - there’s one scene involving a log-cutting machine that will make most people wince.

King also shared his thoughts on the slasher’s aesthetic, comparing him to an unlikely comedy character. “The killer in his mask looks like the world's most terrifying Minion,” he writes.

In A Violent Nature has an 85% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviewers loving its fresh perspective, innovative storytelling, and low-key, artistic approach to the horror genre. See King’s tweet below.
