Dancing with the Stars Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy Tried to Dance While 'Pregnant' & Followers Say He Missed a Few Steps

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are preparing to enter the Two Under Two Club . And the professional dancers are doing that the best way they know how — by dancing their way through Murgatroyd’s pregnancy. Their latest routine has the internet (us included) absolutely cracking up.

At the request of a follower, the Dancing with the Stars couple recently used a whole lot of fruit and Saran wrap to even the playing field. People wanted to see Chmerkovskiy try and dance while “pregnant.” And so Murgatroyd — who is pregnant with their third child — wrapped a watermelon and some grapefruits around her husband until it was nice and sturdy. (And hella heavy.)

“I’ve been wanting to do this for two straight years …. Putting @maksimc to the test made my dreams come true 😏,” Murgatroyd captioned the first video .

Followers like Julianne Hough were “obsessed” with the video that involved Chmerkovskiy sagging under the weight of a baby “bump” and picking out the fruit which best represented his wife’s boobs. (Clementines? No way.)

The couple then posted the most amazing follow-up video of Chmerkovskiy dancing with his … getup.

“First of all, THIS SUCKED!” Chmerkovskiy captioned his video. He said he took the “bump” off immediately and that his diaphragm is “still upset at him.”

“[Also], @petamurgatroyd was way too happy the whole time 😤,” he continued. And fans noticed. The soon-to-be mom of three watched from behind, munching on chips and nodding along at her husband’s footwork. “Peta eating her chips and loving every minute of this is a whole mood!! 😂” someone commented.

After finishing his routine, Chmerkovskiy spoke to the camera and commented on the awful center of gravity a pregnant person has. “You can’t live that way,” he said in disbelief.

“WOW how uncomfortable this is!” Chmerkovskiy continued his caption. “I cannot believe Peta ties her shoes, holds Rio all day, still dances and in general makes it look so easy 🤷🏻‍♂️🤯 I hope she doesn’t make me do this again.”

And while he doesn’t necessarily need to dance pregnant again (he did a pretty good job!), followers were quick to point out that he missed a few steps. Not steps in the routine, but in the life of a pregnant person.

So maybe it’s time the fruit comes back out.

“Wait, did you sit down then try to get back up??? Or the best is trying to get yourself back out of bed!!!!” “U didn’t even get the fun part morning sickness and getting kicked in the bladder.. 😂” “Make him wear it to bed and then get up in the morning and film the dance – reality! 😂😂😂😂😂” “You should do a period simulator next 😂”

Even if he skipped a few steps in the process, followers applauded Chmerkovskiy for supporting his wife. “Nice that you tried and admit that it sucked 😆 Women are strong 💪🏼”

The dancers share two sons, 7-year-old Shai and baby Rio. Murgatroyd announced they were expecting Baby No. 3 with another one of her hilarious videos back in February. She tried to hint that she was pregnant by eating pickles and suggesting they buy a bigger house, but Chmerkovskiy just wasn’t getting it.

“Yes we know … we just had a baby … haha! This was very unexpected at (4 months postpartum with Rio) but we are sooooo happy and so ready to be a family of 5 soon!” she captioned the announcement .
