Katy Perry shows off skinny frame and cheeky backshot in sexy outfit - as she whips fans up into a frenzy over seventh album

Katy Perry displayed her very svelte frame as she shared a slew of sizzling snaps to her Instagram on Wednesday.

The Roar singer, 39, who recently sparked speculation new music was incoming, sported a sheer crop top and tiny shorts as she posed atop a green plastic crate.

She showcased her slim abs and toned legs as she sat perched atop the container in boots and an edgy jacket resting at her feet.

Her jet black hair cascaded down in her back as she shot a fierce gaze at the camera, her eyes shielded behind edgy shades.

As for her complexion, she touched it up with radiant blush and a slick of lip gloss on her pout.

Taking the look to a whole other level, she rocked earrings adorned with a literal key.

'feelin crate hbu,' she cleverly captioned the post.

It comes after Katy sparked speculation she has been teasing new music after she mysteriously updated her social media profile icons, Spotify page, and website.

The multi-Grammy Award nominee made the branding changes last month, with people online speculating it meant the California Girls singer was entering a new era.

Her profile picture across social media platforms has been updated to her initials 'KP' in a sleek silver font, on top of a bright red background.

Meanwhile, her X (formerly Twitter ) and Spotify headers are the same colour, with what looks like bubbles floating up the screen.

When you play any of her old music on the streaming website, the new logo begins spinning around in the background.

Katy's website also boasts the singer's new branding, with the option for fans to sign up for email updates and offers.

The popstar's fanbase, known as KatyCats, were quick to notice the change and have flooded social media with the hope it could mean new music is on the cards.

The American Idol judge is rumored to be making a musical comeback, which journalist Daryl Deino calls the 'biggest musical comeback since Mariah Carey with The Emancipation of Mimi.'

The rumoured grand return comes after her last two albums failed to reach the heights of her heyday, and fans are now ready for her renaissance.

In April, the Teenage Dream singer's fans were hard at work on X, with a campaign to support the star along with the hashtag #JUSTICEFORKATYPERRY.

As a result, her fanbase have pushed her fifth studio album Witness to the top of several countries' iTunes charts, nearly seven years after its release - with some fans claiming that the record's release was originally sabotaged back in 2017.

The album topped the charts in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Turkey, Vietnam, Peru, Guatemala, Philippines, Jordan and other countries.

To this day, Katy has released six studio albums, with her most recent one being Smile in 2020.

In December 2023, it was reported that the pop superstar was said to be putting the final touches to her 'most personal album ever' after Smile and will perform it for British crowds sometime in late 2024.

After ending her two year Last Vegas residency in November she is believed to be ready to hit the worldwide stage again, according to The Sun.

A source revealed: 'Katy has been working on her most personal album ever for much of the past two years'.

Before saying of the tour: 'The demand is there because she has so many hits, so taking her show on the road is bound to be a big draw.

'The hope is that she can head out towards the end of 2024, but it is still being worked out.'

She last toured in the UK back in 2018 but did take to the stage for the King's Coronation at Windsor Castle last year.

The new branding also comes just after Katy's final episode as a judge on American Idol , after seven seasons on the panel with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

The ABC show wrapped up with a jam-packed three-hour episode, which saw Will Moseley, Jack Blocker and Abi sing for survival in a bid to be crowned season 22 champion 21-year-old Abi from Indio, California ultimately won the $250,000 cash prize and a recording contract.

Katy was visibly emotional throughout the night as she delivered her final words and a powerful performance.

For her duet of her song 'What Makes a Woman' with Blocker, Perry towered over the audience in a 20ft tall dress that featured the faces of every top 24 contestant that appeared on the show during her tenure.

The frock ultimately featured a total of 168 faces on it and was so elaborate that it took a team of seven people to transport it around the set.
