EXCLUSIVE : Toni Collette is set as a series regular in the upcoming Netflix Canada limited series Wayward (fka Tall Pines ). She is joining a cast led by Mae Martin, the series’ creator, executive producer and co-showrunner, which also includes fellow series regulars Sarah Gadon, Brandon Jay McLaren, Sydney Topliffe and Alyvia Alyn Lind as well as recurring guest stars Patrick J. Adams, Patrick Gallagher and Josh Close.

The eight-episode Wayward is a thriller set in a bucolic but sinister town that explores the insidious underbelly of the “troubled teen industry” and the eternal struggle between one generation and the next.
Collette will play Leanne, the headmistress at Tall Pines.
Martin serves as co-showrunner with Ryan Scott, who also is an executive producer. Ben Farrell executive produces through his Objective Fiction, along with Hannah Mackay, Jennifer Kawaja and Bruno Dubé. Sphere Media is producing.

This marks a return to Netflix for Collette who headlined the streamer’s 2022 series Pieces of Her. She most recently starred in Max’s limited series The Staircase and Prime Video’s The Power. In features, Collette, an Oscar nominee for The Sixth Sense, was recently seen in indie Mafia Mamma . She has coming up two Warner Brothers films, Mickey 17 with Robert Pattinson and Mark Ruffalo, directed by Bong Ho; and Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 , reuniting her with actor with Nicholas Hoult after starring together in About a Boy . Collette is repped by CAA, United Management, Finley Management and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
