Rip ‘N’ Sew member Gary Reynolds recently showed fellow club members how using an external Bluetooth keyboard and a rotating stand holding an iPad allows them to combine video instruction and sewing with minimal extra effort.

The students at the Sun City West club were eager to add this to their repertoire of skills. They learned how to position the stand, pair the keyboard to the iPad and utilize the keyboard shortcuts to create their project without searching for small icons on an iPad. These students now can start and stop, move forward and backward, speed up and slow down just by tapping a keyboard key.

Reynolds taught the seven classmates more than a dozen shortcuts available to fit their needs. Participants also learned how to create a folder in Safari Favorites to store videos they want to save for later use or reference.
