No one can deny that Tyla is that girl. After her sculpted sand dress stunned at the Met Gala, I’ve been tuned in to her every move. And let’s be clear, no one can pull off short hair the way she can. You might associate pop stars with long flowing hair, but I have no doubt that Tyla can change the whole game. So naturally, Tyla’s pixie cut has been making waves. Fans have compared it to Halle Berry’s iconic short haircut, but with all due respect—Halle’s hair doesn’t even hold a candle to Tyla’s.

When you’re as gorgeous as Tyla, you can pull off anything. So much so that I’m starting to believe short hair was made for her. Her iconic Met Gala look featured a short bob and it quite literally pulled the whole look together. And while other celebrities are scared to commit to a short hairstyle , Tyla pulls it off with ease. I’m hoping she won’t become hair transformation obsessed like the rest of Hollywood, because the short hair truly belongs to her.

For her Dazed cover shoot, Tyla sported a 90s-esque spiky pixie cut, and the world was never the same. The haircut featured wispy baby bangs, in true Halle Berry fashion. And even though Halle Berry’s hair now pales in comparison (in my humble opinion at least), I do recognize how Halle’s influenced a whole new generation of pixie cut princesses. The pixie cut is back and it’s no longer just for midwestern moms.

Beyond that, having a Dazed cover is the true mark of an it girl. Only the coolest people have graced the cover of Dazed —think FKA Twigs, Taylor Russell, and Tinashe, to name a few. And now rightfully so, Tyla has officially joined the cool girl club. Even if you don’t agree that she did the pixie cut better than Halle Berry, you have to admit it suits her perfectly. But like I said, when you’re as stunning as Tyla—everything suits you.
