Congratulations are in order for actor Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe who has revealed that she welcomed twins with her husband, Brandon Frankel , earlier this year.

Gabby Sidibe Reveals She Recently Gave Birth

According to Shutterstock, the 41-year-old revealed she and her husband welcomed twins in early April. The outlet notes that the couple welcomed a baby boy named Cooper and a baby girl named Maya.

“Brandon always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we can call him ‘Coop,’ and Maya was named shortly before our baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico,” Sidibe told the outlet. “Both twins have traditional West African middle names after members of my family.”

Sidibe explained that her bundles of joy are ” both extremely strong and hilarious” although they “have yet to really interact with each other.”

“Cooper will sometimes speak for Maya and alert us that she’s about to spit up. Maya loves her name being sung to her and is the queen of comedic timing, and Cooper loves his sleep and has the funniest facial expressions,” Sidibe added. “They both love cuddling with Mom and Dad.”

The 41-year-old explained that the day she went into labor came as a total surprise.

“We originally were going in for a routine appointment, only to be told the twins would be coming later that day and not when originally planned,” Sidibe shared.

Since then, the actor notes that every day with her babies has been nothing short of eventful. Sidibe and her husband’s “biggest surprise” since her delivery date is “just how loud and chaotic babies are when they sleep.”

“‘Active sleep’ is pretty wild,” the 41-year-old said. “Also, it was a surprise to see how little they’ve acknowledged each other outside the womb when they seemed to interact so much inside.”

Before concluding on her life’s major update, Sidibe shared that her biggest advice for parents expecting twins is to “get them on the same schedule. It’s a must!”

Additionally, she explained what she and her husband are looking forward to most as new parents of twins.

“We’re excited for outfits and getting them dressed up, for sing-alongs, trips and to explore, and raising them to be good people,” Sidibe shared.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Sidibe and her husband announced their pregnancy in February. At the time, the ‘Precious’ star revealed that she was expecting not one — but two precious gifts via Instagram !

“I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of!” she wrote on the platform.

Additionally, Sidibe noted that the surprise would bring “double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!!”
