Donations sought for 5th annual Backpack Bash

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — COSILoveYou is seeking donations for their 5th Annual Backpack Bash event this upcoming Saturday, July 27, and Aug. 3.

The Backpack Bash is a collaborative effort involving more than 70 local churches, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and government partners to support students across the Colorado Springs area.

Every student receives a free new backpack with new school supplies. As COSILoveYou ramps up for the event, it needs new and unused backpacks.

To donate a backpack, individuals can look at the online Walmart Wish List, or drive up to an in-person donation location in the Colorado Springs area. Individuals can also donate funds online and find extra information on the BackpackBash website .

This year, the group plans to help 12,000 local students return to school with brand-new supplies. The event will take place on Saturday, July 27 at Sand Creek High School from 9 a.m. to noon and on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at Mitchell High School, Grand Mountain School, Panorama Park, and Hillside Community Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
