Athletic dresses are everywhere right now, and understandably so. They’re comfortable, cute and require minimum effort to look good. And while Target has been really hitting it home with how good their active dresses are, Old Navy has been catching shoppers' eyes as well. One of their trending dresses actually has over 300 ratings and looks very similar to Alo Yoga and new Lululemon styles. The best part is the price—which is almost four times cheaper than those other retailers.
The dress we’re talking about is the PowerSoft Cami Athletic Dress at Old Navy. It’s currently on sale for $24.99, but it’s originally $49.99. It has a sleek design with a fitted top and full skirt (which hits at the top of the thigh), and the built-in shorts have a 4-inch inseam (and pockets!). It has a square neck that comes up a bit higher on the chest and it has adjustable “cami” straps, as the name suggests, as well as a shelf bra built in (with removable pads).
This cami dress has a “go-dry” material that “wicks moisture” when you’re wearing it, which is great if you plan to use this at the gym or tennis court. It has a fabric makeup of 77% polyester, 23% spandex, with its built-in bra having 77% nylon and 23% spandex. It also has several colors you can choose from: cherry tomato (with white straps and neckline), dusk navy, blue overall, magnolia (white) and light black heather (basically just black).
As stated before, this PowerSoft Cami Athletic Dress has 344 ratings and 4.5 stars overall. The favorable reviews love the “perfect fit” and how “affordable” it is. Another person wrote, “This dress is so cute and COMFORTABLE!” and they love the adjustable straps.
"Go-to summer outfit," another person titled their review. They then wrote: "So cute, I'm so excited to wear this all summer! The built-in shorts are amazing!"
It’s not surprising that people like the design and quality of this dress, especially considering it looks similar to Lululemon’s new Align Cami Strap Dress. This is the style that Old Navy’s cami athletic dress most resembles and it’s currently $148. It comes in four colors including black, and has a similar neckline and silhouette. There are several layers to this dress, each with a different fabric makeup, but it looks like most of it is a majority of nylon (over 80%) and the rest is lycra elastane. The lining is the most different, with fabric that is 56% polyester, 33% Coolmax polyester and 11% lycra elastane. It’s made for low-impact activities, giving “light support” at the top, and has a built-in bra and shorts, like Old Navy’s.
Another dress that looks like Old Navy’s is the Goddess Ribbed Spaghetti Strap Dress by Alo Yoga. It’s $108, only comes in black and is a lot tighter than Old Navy’s. But it does have a slight square neckline and cami or spaghetti straps.
Whether you buy athletic dresses on the regular or you want to try something new, the PowerSoft Cami Athletic Dress is a good choice considering the quality and low price.
