When it comes to dining at home, we spend a lot of time and energy focusing on the ingredients. It’s true, wagyu beef or a dry-aged steak is bar none in terms of a main course, but often, the plates and dishes we enjoy our expertly seasoned meals on are an afterthought save for a few formal dinners and parties. It’s not to say that an airline chicken breast or freshly caught spot prawns are unimportant; we just think it’s worth considering your choice in plating, too.

Much like the proper wine or martini glass aids in the flavor of your chosen tipple, the right set of plates and bowls can further enhance your dish, even if it’s a simple matter of optics. A rustic wooden tray is the perfect backdrop for an artfully scattered array of figs, cheeses , cured meats, and jams. And a vibrant blue abstract floral set is the ideal choice for dill-icious potato salad or sticky, sweet baked beans . Of course, there’s no better choice than a gorgeous alabaster white set, which allows the colors and textures of the food to stand on its own.

Over and Back Footed Bowl Set

    Sam's Club

Fortunately, Sam’s Club continually adds to its ever-expanding lineup of dishes, and the latest 2-Piece Footed Bowl Set by Over and Back is so stunning, you might confuse it for an equally beautiful offering from Pottery Barn. Included in the set, you’ll get a larger 10 x 10 x 3.375-inch bowl as well as a smaller 7.75 x 7.75 x 3.375-inch one. These stark white porcelain bowls feature an elevated footed detail with clean, sleek lines, and the vessels are microwave, dishwasher, and oven-safe up to 350°F.

When it comes to cost, this set of two from Sam’s will only set you back $29.98—or about $15 per bowl. In comparison, their similar counterpart from Pottery Barn costs a whopping $39.50 for one, and they’re more oval-shaped than round. Additionally, the set from Pottery Barn isn’t oven safe due to its stoneware makeup, which only makes the set from Sam’s more attractive. The only thing left to do is throw together a delicious summer salad and dig in. And who knows, you may even find that your salad is just a little bit tastier.
