Ross Mathews Admits He Was Once “So Hungover” When He Taped ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’

Ross Mathews made a surprising confession on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show . According to Drew Barrymore ‘s trusty co-host, he once showed up to a taping “so hungover” that he had to take a power nap backstage.
During one of today’s Drew’s News segments, the dynamic duo discussed a new survey claiming one in three workers nap on the clock. While 50% of in-person employees reportedly take naps in their cars, others get some shut-eye at their desks, in the bathroom and/or in company-designated napping places, to name a few.
The topic prompted Mathews to make a shocking (albeit hilarious) confession to Barrymore.
“I wanted to tell you when I read this survey — I’ve never admitted this to you but one time I took a nap here,” he said. “I was so hungover.”
A stunned Barrymore immediately keeled over laughing as Mathews continued, “We had gone out after the engagement announcement when I got engaged. Our friends took us out to celebrate and it was so much fun until I woke up the next day and I came here and we did the news.”
Mathews has been a talk-show staple for nearly two decades. He rose to fame as a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where he worked from 2006 to 2013, and has since become a familiar face on Hollywood’s biggest red carpets. Plus, Mathews has been a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race since 2015 and has co-hosted The Drew Barrymore Show since it premiered in 2020.
The television personality has also dabbled in a little acting, having starred in Days of Our Lives from 2008 to 2011.
The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays on CBS. You can check the website for local airtimes.
