Khloe Kardashian's Confession About Her Kids' Nanny Comes As Quite the Surprise

Most people assume that rich and famous mothers have a rotating staff of nannies on call at all times so they never have to do any of the "dirty work" involved in parenting — but while that's definitely true in some cases, other celeb moms are surprisingly hands-on...even when they do have hired help.

Mother-of-two Khloé Kardashian made a surprising confession about her own nanny on this week's episode of The Kardashians , and it just proves how much the star does for her 23-month-old son Tatum and 6-year-old daughter True. On the way to sister Kim Kardashian's birthday party, Khloé told mom Kris Jenner that True was being put to bed by her nanny Roya for the very first time — despite the fact that Roya was her nanny for over a year.

As People reported, True was a bit confused by the prospect.

“True was like, ‘Who’s gonna put me to sleep ?’ And I’m like, True, ‘Roya’s going to put you to sleep.’ She’s like, ‘Who’s gonna say my prayers?’ I’m like, Roya!” Khloé said.

After Kris joked that maybe Khloé would allow her to put her granddaughter to sleep if she memorized and practiced her bedtime routine , Khloé admitted how long it took her to let Roya take over.

“Mom, my nanny has been here over a year. This is her first time putting her to sleep because I'm such a lunatic," Khloé said.

According to Khloé, "everyone" in her family "shames" the tight schedule she has for her kids, but she doesn't care (and any mom whose sanity depends on her children going to bed on time can definitely relate!).

There's no question that it can be tough for a kid to fall asleep with a nanny, babysitter, or grandparent if they're used to a parent doing the job every evening. But if you need to be away from your child at night, there are some things you can do to ensure bedtime doesn't turn into a nightmare .

How to Make Sure Your Child's Bedtime Goes Smoothly When They're With a Nanny

When it comes to preparing your nanny or babysitter for your kid's bedtime , "communication is key," according to The Nanny Solution.

"Be sure to discuss your child’s nap and bedtime routine with your nanny and let them know what works best for your child. This includes things like when to start winding down, your child’s sleepy cues, what activities to do before bedtime, and what time your child usually goes to bed. Also, it is important to note that your nanny doesn’t have to do everything exactly like you; they can keep their own style but keep the basics: routine and consistency."

Even if you prefer to be the person who puts your kids to bed on a regular basis, it's always good to have a pinch hitter on deck — like when you have to go to your famous sister's birthday party!
