Mom & Daughter's 'Dollar Tree DIY Dual' Is Full of Whimsy and Fun

While DIYs are a great time all on their own, you know what makes them way better? Doing it with someone you love! Whether you need a date night idea or a playdate plan, this Dollar Tree competition is absolutely the way to go. You can have so much fun with this!

TikTok user Bre ( @averagebutinspired ) is a well-known DIY creator and her projects include vintage furniture makeovers, thrift store flips, and even life hacks for storage organization. This time, she decided to bring her adorable mom into the mix and have a friendly competition to see who can make the best outdoor decor. The only requirement? Everything has to be made from Dollar Tree products. (Full disclosure, it seems that Bre was sponsored by Dollar Tree for this post but either way this is such a cute idea!)

Their goal was to create a piece of decor for their patio table and so off they went through the Dollar Tree aisles!

Finding anything from faux flowers to pool noodles , these two made their way around the local store and grabbed whatever they could find to make their DIY dream come true.

Now for the best part: making the creations come to life.

Bre was envisioning a table centerpiece so she immediately grabbed some pool noodles, mini solar lights, faux flowers, and some fabric. She cut the pool noodles into equal smaller pieces and arranged them in a circle, covering them with the fabric and inserting her solar lights into each noodle, adding the flowers around the top. Such a smart idea!

Bre's mom on the other hand went the craft hack route. She blew up a balloon and covered the bottom with glue and faux leaves. Once those were dry, she popped the balloon to reveal an adorable leaf bowl and added a light in the center. Adorable!
