    Pinal County, flood control district raising property tax rates

    The Pinal County Board of Supervisors will hold two truth in taxation hearings during the final budget adoption regular session meeting Wednesday, July 3.

    The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be held in the Pinal County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, 135 N. Pinal St. in Florence, according to a public notice.

    Pinal County intends to raise its primary property taxes over last year’s level. Pinal County is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $2,928,051 or 2.43%.

    The tax increase will cause Pinal County’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $345. Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $336.83.

    Also, Pinal County Flood Control intends to raise its secondary property taxes over last year’s level. The district is proposing an increase in secondary property taxes of $310,690 or 6.21%.

    The proposed tax increase will cause Pinal County Flood Control District’s secondary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $16.93. Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $15.94.
