Security guard shoots, kills man at Kanawha County job site

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A security guard shot and killed a 64-year-old man at a job site in the Pinch area of Kanawha County, according to the county sheriff’s office.

The shooting happened at a TC Energy job site on Stella Drive just after 11:30 p.m. on Friday, deputies said in a press release.

They said the man, from Pinch, pulled up behind oil trucks on Upper Pinch Road, got out of his vehicle, and “got into a disturbance with everyone on scene.”

It is believed this is when the man pulled out a firearm and was then fatally shot by the security guard, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said.

No charges will be filed against the security guard, the sheriff’s office said. They said the guard is cooperating with law enforcement.

The identity of the man fatally shot has not been released at this time.
