It has been 120 degrees F in some parts of Pakistan, and the people in those areas have nowhere to go. This is one of the most severe problems of the climate crisis. Hundreds of millions of individuals reside in regions that suffer from extreme drought, dangerous heat, and massive storms. Even governments with significant resources need a place to move them. The complexity and cost would make such actions impossible even if geographic areas were nearby with fewer environmental problems.

The Bigger Worry –COVID or Climate?

In an interview with Rafay Alam, an environmental lawyer and a member of Pakistan’s Climate Change Council, Inside Climat New was told, “There were torrential rains in the northern and western parts of Pakistan that led to over 120 deaths. What we are experiencing is not just a heat wave, but actively the climate crisis. This is the coolest summer of the rest of our lives. It’s only going to get hotter and hotter from here.”

    250 Million Residents

Pakistan is one of the poorest nations in the world and one without economic resources. The country has over 250 million residents. Its GDP is $5,500, which ranks it 169th among the world’s approximately 200 nations.

As is the case with other countries and regions, the weather will become so dangerous that many people will start to die, and those alive, for the time being, will have no options.
