    One freaking dollar.

A lucky contestant on The Price Is Right left host Drew Carey marveling on Friday after getting astonishingly close to the exact value on Showcase Showdown.

Patrice Masse from Grande Prairie, Alberta had already overcome multiple obstacles to get to the final moment of the show, where he bid $39,500 on a package that included a new car and a trip to Miami.

A glance at the actual retail price had Drew Carey doing a double take — he stepped backwards and gaped at the card he was holding, leaving Masse in suspense.

“So, let me tell ya…” he said mischeviously, sending the crowd wild.

Former ‘Price is Right’ producer shares protocol for contestants so excited they ‘pee their pants’

    “Thirty-nine thousand, five-oh-one.”

Show rules state that if a contestant bids within $250 without going over the actual price, they win both Showcase Showdown packages — that’s known as being a Double Showcase Winner, EW reported.

Masse’s absolutely wild guess was “the best Showcase bid in the history of the show,” Carey gushed.

The Canadian contestant walked off with $83,068 in fabulous prizes — the highest showcase win this season, CBS said.

The prize bucket includes a Kia K5 GT-Line; getaways to Milan, Hawaii, and Miami; a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 motorcycle; and a stack of designer duds from Versace, Gucci, and Coach.

Masse’s wife, Tina could be seen jumping up and down with excitement before rushing over to join her husband.

“Off by a dollar!” Carey exclaimed as the show ended. “With absolutely no help from anybody audience, by the way.” Perhaps we should change the old saying to, “Almost doesn’t count, except in horseshoes and hand grenades — and The Price is Right .”
