Cheryl Reeve's Past Critique of Caitlin Clark Raises Questions About Team USA Selection Process

The sports community has been buzzing ever since it was announced that Caitlin Clark would not be participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics for Team USA.

With Clark being left out of the fold, now the question becomes who made the decision to keep her off the team. And while the answer is likely many different people, one person that has made her negative opinion of Clark clear in the past is Team USA's coach, Cheryl Reeve.

Back in May, Reeve (who is President of Basketball Operations for the Minnesota Lynx) wrote an X post that threw subtle shade at Clark.

"ALSO in action tonight - @minnesotalynx vs @chicagosky 7pm CST. Though fans won't be able to watch, #Lynx fans can go to the Lynx app to follow along via play by play. Or if you are in market, come to the game...as we start the season off right #12teams #theWismorethanoneplayer ", Reeve wrote, in response to the WNBA's X post about Clark and the Fever's first preseason game.

That last hashtag shows Reeve was (and perhaps still is) bitter about the attention Clark receives.

Is Reeve's bitterness the reason why Clark won't be playing in Paris this summer?

The Olympic players represent our country. The attention that comes with CC not her or her actions is a negative for America. Better CC and AR are placed on the back burner until fans behavior falls in line with what the Olympic means for the country. So bottomline cut the racial crap and then they can play. It wasn't happening before them and it shouldn't be allowed now.
