(COLORADO) — Data from a report by online lender CreditNinja shows the average monthly searches, per state, for terms about money and financial problems. Of all the states in the nation, Colorado had the most searches.

Coloradans clocked in at 3,631 average monthly searches per 100,000 people for terms such as “mortgage rates”, “loans” or “car payment calculator” and Utah came in second with 3,593 average monthly searches for similar terms. Florida came in third, at 3,416 average monthly searches.

Colorado’s number of searches is 75% higher compared to Mississippi, which came in last in terms of money stress, at 2,069 monthly searches per 100,000 people for finance-related terms.

“Most people will experience financial hardship at some point in their lives, so it is natural to have concerns,” said Matt Mayerle, a Personal Finance Editor from CreditNinja. “The issues arise when small worries turn into severe stress and anxiety, as this can have a detrimental impact on our lives.”

Other states that ranked highly in terms of financial stress were Georgia, at #4 with 3,219 average monthly searches, Arizona, at #5 with 3,149 average monthly searches, and Nevada, at #6 with 3,145 average monthly searches.

“This data aims to highlight the states that are struggling and spark a conversation about what needs to be done to improve people’s well-being when it comes to their finances,” Mayerle said.
