Inside Out 2: Riley Plays Video Games in New Clip

Inside Out 2 hits theaters this Friday, and Pixar is getting the hype train going early, releasing a brand new clip from the film that gives us another small peek into Riley's mind.

In the clip, we meet Lance Slashblade, a video game character that Riley's been crushing on. He's wandering the depths of Riley's mind where her early emotions, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust have been bottled up and hidden.

"I long to be a hero, but darkness haunts my past," Lance proclaims while the other emotions nod along to his monologue. "We were all banished here, deemed unfit. Worthless," he continues before Disgust steps up to talk him off the ledge.

We then cut to the real world, where Riley's playing a video game with friends before jumping back into her mind, where Lance says he will free the primary emotions.

The clip was released at this year's Summer Game Fest , which is currently taking place in Los Angeles.

Inside Out 2 introduces new emotions to an adolescent Riley.

She discovers Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment and Envy as she hits her teenage years, and things start to be a little more complicated than they were in childhood.

First reactions say Inside Out 2 "will not disappoint" and that it's "the best Pixar movie in a decade" , but full reviews of the film are yet to land.
