The Celebrate Princeton Street Fair returns to Mercer County

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — A wide variety of events returns to Princeton with the Celebrate Princeton Street Fair.
The Celebrate Princeton Street Fair will be in the Mercer Street Grassroots District of downtown Princeton from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Attendees will be able to experience a variety of events at the street fair such as, live music, a “Memories on Mercer Street” tent for story-sharing and reminiscing, circus performances, a classic car show, and a live art mashup with multiple local artists.
We’re so grateful to gather once again and celebrate our community together! Mercer Street continues to blossom; we’re excited to show the community all that’s new in our neighborhood!

In addition to the events, there will also be activities that include a bounce house, free face painting and crafts, dozens of vendors, a ferris wheel, put put golf, The Foam Garage, and waterslides.
Special activities and sales will be held by Grassroots District merchants, an Open Studio Day will be held by Hammer & Stain, the day will be the Sophisticated Hound Brewing Company’s Six Year Anniversary Celebration, and student performances at The Fountain Stage will be featured by Stages Music School.
Vendor tents from local business such as The Gaia Den, Shine Time Studios, and Rainbow Art Farms, and organizations like Princeton Historical Society, Community Connections, and Oakvale Area Outreach Team will line the street. Mercer Street Businesses like Hatter’s Bookshop, Denim & Lace, Wild Roots Coffeehouse, Blue Ridge Bee Company, and more will also be open.
Photographers are encouraged by event organizers to take a ride on the ferris wheel to get a birds eye view and photography opportunities of the area.
Two different shows will be performed in front of The Renaissance Theater by Fluidity Circus Troupe. Not only will activities with Fluidity Circus Troupe include a meet and greet with audience members, they will also provide entertainment with stilts and bubbles.
The Fountain Stage and Dick Copeland Town Square will also have live music performances from James Hart & Old Soul Reunion, Appalachian Soul Man Aristotle Jones, Jon Bolt, Strings of Green, Into the Fog, and more. Activities such as a Friends of the Library book sale will be held by the Princeton Public Library, as well as additional activities outside in the parking lot and inside the library.
Items such as snow cones, jumbo pretzels, face painting, crafts, essential oils and massage, and fine art can be found at vendors during the event. Attendees are welcome to visit downtown business that will also be open during the street fair.
The RiffRaff Arts Collective presented the Celebrate Princeton Street Fair, and the event is supported by Princeton Rescue Squad, WVU Medicine/Princeton Community Hospital, April Lusk, The City of Princeton, USA Martial Arts, and State Farm Insurance Agent.
The ferris wheel, brought by The City of Princeton, Southern Highlands, and the Mercer County Commission, will be free to ride. LLyniuM entertainment provided festival production, and A&R Productions produced the classic car show.
The Princeton Police and Fire Departments, Princeton Public Library, the Public Works Departments, and downtown businesses are thanked by the event organizers for their cooperation and support for the event.

10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. – Strings of Greene on Town Square Stage
11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Fluidity Performance Troupe in front of Renaissance Theater
11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Into the Fog on Town Square Stage
12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m – Find Your Flow Workshop in Town Square
1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Fluidity Performance Troupe in front of Renaissance Theater
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Appalachian Soul Man Aristotle Jones on Town Square Stage
3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m – Fluidity Performance Troupe in front of Renaissance Theater
3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – James Hart & Old Soul Reunion on Town Square Stage
