As fans eagerly await the next round of Dancing With the Stars , we're taking a closer look at the star-studded cast being scouted for this season from Jennifer Lopez's exes to Gypsy Rose Blanchard .
Every year a wide variety of talent hits the ballroom from athletes to reality stars, and while the official lineup has not yet been announced there is a very impressive mix up of buzzed-about contestants that might take the stage this fall. Some of the hot talent reportedly on producer's radar includes Jennifer Lopez's ex boyfriends Cris Judd or Casper Smart, ex-con Gypsy Rose Blanchard , WNBA legend Caitlin Clark , Netflix's Baby Reindeer stars Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning, Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos, and more.
An insider working for the ABC reality series revealed: "Producers are constantly talking to stars throughout the year to work with their schedules. They also wait for certain events to end, like this summer's Olympics to see who trends and who would be a good fit."

Speaking to the Daily Mail , they added: "Everyone who has been in the news, or will be in the news, are always asked. With it being an election year, anyone connected to Biden or Trump will be asked as well as TikTok stars."
The source went on to reveal that amid Jennifer Lopez's divorce speculation with Ben Affleck that has been overtaking headlines in recent weeks, there have been talks of bringing on not one but two of her former exes to the show. The insider explained that Cris Judd or Casper Smart could be "a double whammy" due to their history with J-Lo as it would make for "great entertainment."
Actor Cris Judd already has some professional dancing skills under his belt, making him a shoe-in for the cast. Cris and Jennifer shared a nine-month marriage together before divorcing in 2002 with J-Lo later admitting that they "didn't have what it takes to make marriage work." As for Jennifer and Casper, the Hollywood pair shared a two-and-a-half year relationship in the spotlight before calling it quits, claiming their romance found it's "natural end" but they remained good friends.
In addition to Jennifer's former lovers, producers also have their sights set on Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who has become the center-of-attention this year after her shocking release from prison after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother. The insider claimed that Gypsy would be "such a lightning rod" and "ratings grabber" if she agreed to sign onto the reality series.
Other top picks include the cast of Netflix's chilling series Baby Reindeer. As the show has captured the fascination of viewers everywhere, actors Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning have allegedly also been high on the list of talent producers are considering. This comes as the show has been entangled in a messy controversy as the "real-life" Martha has threatened legal action against Netflix for her portrayal in the series.
Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos is also allegedly being targeted for the show as she has captured the attention of many being the first-ever bachelorette to lead the dating show over the age of 60. According to the insider, former and current Bachelor stars are often considered for DWTS as they are already involved in the ABC network.
Outside of the entertainment industry, there have also been famous athletes thrown into the mix including MLB legend Caitlin Clark and baseball pitcher Shohei Ohtani. And while the insider believes DWTS producers will be getting a "firm no" from the Japanese player - as well as some of their other top choices - they will "ask everyone who has or will be in the headlines."
