OGDEN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Two men were seriously injured after falling due to a roof collapse in the Evergreen Park area in Weber County, officials say.

Deputy Dave Reed with the Weber Fire District told ABC4.com that two men, who have not been identified, were working on top of the roof of a cabin when it collapsed just before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.

One man, who Reed said was in his 30s, fell off the side of the roof and suffered serious injuries. The second man, reportedly in his 50s, fell through the roof and became pinned beneath debris. He suffered severe head, chest and abdominal injuries.

Reed said the remote location of the cabin slowed the response time, but with the help of three other families in the area, crews were able to dig out the man who fell through the roof.

Both men were flown to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Reed told ABC4.com that the cause of the roof collapse is currently under investigation and provided no additional information.
