Sharing the quoted message above as part of the caption to her revelatory post, Maren wrote “happy pride 🌈,” alongside photos of herself holding a rainbow flag at her recent Phoenix, AZ RSVP Redux Tour stop.

In 2022, the longtime outspoken advocate and now proud member of the LBGTQ+ community, partnered with GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, and Trans Lifeline to raise money for transgender youth after she was criticized for defending trans people on social media.

Unbothered by the criticism, the following year, the Country singer served as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, t aking the opportunity to share her admiration for the contestants as well as her remorse for the historical exclusion in her music genre.

“Coming from country music and its relationship with LGBTQ+ members, I just want to say I’m sorry and I love you guys for making me feel like a brave voice in country music,” Morris expressed at the time. “So I just thank you guys so much for inspiring me.”

In October 2023, Morris filed for a dissolution of marriage from her ex-husband of five years, Ryan Hurd , citing irreconcilable differences, finalizing their divorce just three months later, in January of this year.
