LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The search continued Monday for an incarcerated man who walked away from a Male Community Reentry Program facility in the Los Angeles area.

"At about 6:13 p.m. (Sunday), officials were alerted that incarcerated person Anthony Tarin had walked out of an MCRP facility," the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said in a statement. "At 6:30 p.m., agents were notified that Tarin had removed his GPS device. CDCR's Office of Correctional Safety and local law enforcement agencies have been notified and are assisting in the search."

Tarin, 53, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a gray T-shirt and gray sweatpants.

"Tarin was received from Los Angeles County on Oct. 24, 2023," the CDCR said. "He was sentenced to two years, eight months for attempted robbery, a second-strike offense."

Tarin had been housed at the reentry program facility since April 8.

Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts was urged to contact local law enforcement or call 911.
