    Capital Region restaurant inspections: June 3-7

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — At the end of each week, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) releases its list of food service establishment inspections for that week. The establishments include restaurants, school cafeteria kitchens, park concessions, and other places that have commercial kitchens and serve food.

    Here are the inspections from June 3 to 7 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations, and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website .

    Critical violations

    Shenendehowa CSD: Okte Elementary School, 1581 Crescent Road in Clifton Park

    • Inspection date: June 3
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Potentially hazardous foods are not kept at or above 140 degrees during hot holding
      • Food (ice) contact surfaces are improperly designed, constructed, installed, located (cracks, open seams, pitted surfaces, tin cans reused, uncleanable or corroded food contact surfaces)
      • Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained
      • Floors, walls, ceilings, not smooth, properly constructed, in disrepair, dirty surfaces
    • Inspection comments: All violations must be corrected or are subject to enforcement action. Remediation of spray hose must be completed by June 28. Kitchen will be undergoing remediation during the summer months per operator.

    I Love New York Pizza of Colonie, 1825 Central Avenue in Colonie

    • Inspection date: June 3
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Water/ice: unsafe, unapproved sources, cross connections
      • Critical: Potentially hazardous foods are not kept at or above 140 degrees during hot holding
      • Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained
      • Improper storage of cleaning equipment, linens, laundry unacceptable

    Jim’s Tastee Freez, 58 Delaware Avenue in Delmar

    • Inspection date: June 3
    • Violation:
      • Critical: Enough hot holding equipment is not present, properly designed, maintained and operated to keep hot foods above 140 degrees

    • Inspection date: June 3
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Potentially hazardous foods are not kept at or below 45 degrees during cold holding, except smoked fish not kept at or below 38 degrees during cold holding
      • Critical: Potentially hazardous foods are not stored under refrigeration except during necessary preparation or approved precooling procedures
      • Critical: Enough refrigerated storage equipment is not present, properly designed, maintained or operated so that all potentially hazardous foods are cooled properly and stored below 45 degrees
      • Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained

      • Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service, from potential sources of contamination (i.e. food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food container double stacked)

      • Improper use and storage of clean, sanitized equipment and utensils
      • Single service items reused, improperly stored, dispensed, not used when required

      • Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained
      • Handwashing facilities inaccessible, improperly located, dirty, in disrepair, improper fixtures, soap, and single service towels or hand drying devices missing
      • Garbage storage areas not properly constructed or maintained, creating a nuisance
    • Inspection comments: Fair compliance given on June 3. Compliance poster to be delivered on June 4. Operator is required to have compliance poster posted in the front window at all times.

      • Critical: Potentially hazardous foods are not kept at or below 45 degrees during cold holding, except smoked fish not kept at or below 38 degrees during cold holding
