According to a new report by The Business Journals, a major company is closing its distribution center in NC next year and 224 workers will be laid off. According to the report, Stanley Black & Decker will close its distribution center in Concord next year.

According to the report, the closing will take place in five phases with 19 employees in August 2024 and 35 in December 2024. The other layoffs will take place on February 21 through March 7, 2025 (83 employees), June 27 through July 11, 2025 (83 employees), and September 26 through October 10, 2025 (four employees).

According to the company, some of the workers will be offered positions at another location.
