A POPULAR creator has been forced to apologize after his sister appeared to have assaulted actor Michael Rainey Jr. during a livestream.

Rainey Jr., who is best known for his appearance as Tariq St. Patrick on Power, abruptly left Tylil James’ Twitch stream on Sunday night shortly after it began.

“After the actions that occurred during by stream last night, I would like to sincerely apologize to Michael and his family for what took place,” Tylil wrote in an Instagram Story.

“My little sister was completely wrong and out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable.

“I am truly embarrassed and disgusted by her actions. I completely respect whatever direction Michael wants to go in this situation.”

Rainey Jr. shared his own statement hours later, saying that he is still in shock and doesn’t “fully know how to process what happened last night.”

“This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way,” the statement read.

Rainey Jr. added that he doesn’t take the situation lightly because if the roles were reversed “I know I would be in serious trouble.”

“The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status.

“We’re all human and we should respect each other. Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.”

    ‘DISGUSTING’

In a clip of the incident, Rainey Jr. appeared alongside Tylil and a group of people, including Tylil’s sister, Jahgee, who stood next to the actor.

Jahgee appeared to get close to Rainey Jr. and put her hands on him, however, the action was blocked from view by other people in the room.

Viewers say Rainey Jr. looked uncomfortable and seemed to push Jahgee away from him.

He looked to the other side of the room when another man appeared from offscreen and asked Rainey Jr. if he was all right.

Tylil, who didn’t see the interaction between his sister and Rainey Jr., asked what happened but the other man said he would tell him later.

“We can’t tell you on this stream,” the man said as he had his arm around Rainey Jr., who laughed nervously.

The actor then left the stream, leaving Tylil to address his audience.

“I’m trying to literally ignore this s**t,” said Tylil.

“The energy shifted and [Rainey Jr.] got up and left.”

He added that when people come to his home he tries his best to show hospitality but this was the first time that his sister had been around a celebrity and he explained that she didn’t know how to act.

“That’s my sister so I’m not going to say anything bad about her but I’m gonna check her,” said Tylil.

    Michael Rainey Jr.'s full statement

Rainey Jr. shared a statement on his Instagram Story on Monday several hours after Tylil's apology.

At this point, everyone has seen the video circulating online.

I am still in shock and don’t fully know how to process what happened last night.

This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way.

I can’t take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed.

The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status.

We’re all human, and we should respect each other.

Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.

However, Tylil’s viewers said the streamer seemed to brush off the incident after the fact.

“Tylil should’ve just ended the stream right when Michael and them left,” a person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter .

“Cause your first statement seem like you didn’t care, you cared that he left and you couldn’t use him for content anymore.”

“This is such disgusting behavior omg,” wrote another person.

Tylil said he was taken aback by his sister’s actions after he watched the clip back.

“I will take extreme precautions with future streams to avoid similar issues and have banned her from participating in future streams.

“I do not condone any type of assault.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Rainey’s reps and Tylil James for comment and attempted to reach Jahgee but it appears she has since deleted or deactivated her social media accounts.
