    Man charged after troopers find fentanyl during traffic stop in Monongalia County

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was charged after troopers found fentanyl and two other types of controlled substances during a traffic stop in Monongalia County.

    On June 6, troopers with the Monongalia County detachment of the West Virginia State Police pulled over a vehicle on W.Va. Rt. 7 in Monongalia County it didn’t use its turn signal, according to a criminal complaint.

    Troopers said the vehicle’s driver, Terry Sanders, 49, of Masontown, was “acting in a nervous behavior and sweating profusely and not making eye contact.”

    After Sanders exited the vehicle, he told troopers that “he had a controlled substance inside the vehicle,” and that he “had ‘an ounce’ of fentanyl along with a firearm”; during a search, troopers located the fentanyl, two other controlled substances, a loaded firearm and a set of scales, according to the complaint.

    Sanders has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
