MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga. ( WRBL ) – Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman shared through social media that three officials were commended after quickly rendering aid to a young woman’s injured arm.

According to the sheriff on June 5, Sergeant Suli Sene, Corporal Chad Bohannon and Deputy Jeremy Gilmer with MCSO were in the middle of working a scene on River Road, when a man approached asking them to help an injured person.

After arriving at a residence on Apex Drive, they found an injured female, who was cut from a window and bleeding. When the three met with the female, there were already two people attempting to apply pressure to her wound.

The sheriff said that the three radioed for EMS and began rendering aid by using a tourniquet to stop the wound from bleeding. The female was later transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional.

The sheriff further added that he’s grateful for the exemplary work of Sene, Bohannon and Gilmer.

I have personally seen the gruesome photos of this incident and there is no doubt that this woman would have bled to death had the deputies not intervened when they did. This is a prime example of never knowing what you may come across while on duty. These deputies rushed into the situation without regard to their personal safety to render aid to an injured female. Their courageous efforts prevented a deadly tragedy. I am extremely proud of each of them for saving this young woman’s life.
