President Joe Biden’s demeanor at a Juneteenth concert on the White House lawn became a hot topic on social media. A video of his seemingly vacant gaze went viral, sparking a wave of ridicule and commentary.

Biden was standing between Vice President Kamala Harris and Philonise Floyd, George Floyd’s brother. As Kirk Franklin performed on a stage in front of him, Biden stood motionless with a blank stare while those standing next to him were dancing. Many people on social media took notice.

“Lights are on but no one’s home,” posted the Trump War Room X account.

“Why isn’t Biden moving?” RNC Research posted on X.

Even political figures couldn’t resist commenting on the video.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) compared it to a famous idiom about a Roman emperor, adding his own layer of criticism to the discourse.

“Just an ordinary day in the life of Joe Biden,” Lee posted on his X account. “While Rome was burning, Nero played the fiddle. While America was being invaded, Biden did … whatever he’s doing in this video.”

Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump 2024 presidential campaign, ridiculed the video of Biden and compared it to the effects of someone under the influence of marijuana.

“BIDEN: These edibles ain’t sh–,” Cheung quipped in a post on X. “*15 minutes later*.”

Biden’s motionless stare comes just days after being mocked and ridiculed for an awkward situation during a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. While standing on a stage between French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Jill Biden, the president appeared to squat in mid-air as if beginning to sit in a chair but then stood back up. Biden was reportedly trying to sit in one of the chairs behind him.
