Gladiator II: First Images of Paul Mescal on Set

Stop the press! Our first look at Paul Mescal in Gladiator II has landed, and it looks epic.

Images of Mescal on the set of Ridley Scott's Gladiator II are circulating on social media, which feature the star in full Gladiator attire, looking like he has been through an intense battle in the arena.

The images appear to have been snapped between takes on set, with Mescal both in character and waiting between setups. The source is unknown, but they're circulating via @cravemedia_ and @bestofmescal on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Other than Ridley Scott teasing an epic baboon fight , this marks the first preview widely available of Gladiator II since Mescal and Scott celebrated wrapping the new film .

Outside of these images, early footage was screened at CinemaCon in April, which featured an epic showdown between Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal.

Ridley Scott has described his new film as "possibly even more extraordinary than the first," and it's not long until audiences will get a taste of this themselves.

Gladiator II is due to hit theaters on November 22, and first reactions say it is "thrilling" and "Oscar-worthy" .
