Ybor City improv theater will turn Yelp revues into comedy this weekend

I once saw someone offer a five-minute, face-to-face, charcuterie critique to a now Michelin-bibbed chef and then close their statement with, “I’m a Yelper.”

My jaw’s still kind of on the ground a decade later, and improv actors are about to turn in “Dramatic readings of the world’s most ridiculous Yelp reviews” then riff on the material for an elite night of comedy.

The Commodore says Yelpers are calling the show “hurtful,” but the review company itself prides itself on celebrating “creativity over conformity,” so they should be embracing the performances, right?

Tickets for The Yelp Review happening Saturday, June 15 at The Commodore just outside Ybor City are still available for $10.
