The North Lawrence Fire Department is crediting an Amazon delivery driver for helping a mother and two children safely leave their car after it rolled over Sunday at North Mount Eaton and Church roads, located north of Dalton in Wayne County's Baughman Township.

The department was dispatched to the crash scene at 9:33 a.m., according to a post on the North Lawrence Fire Department Facebook page .

Upon arrival, they found one car off the road with a pole and wires down. All occupants had been removed by an Amazon driver who was passing by, the department said. All three patients were found to have complaint-type injuries only. They declined the opportunity to be transported to a hospital.

“We would like to thank the Amazon driver that extricated the mother and children prior to our arrival and secured them away from the power lines,” the fire department said. “We also want to point out that there were no injuries resulting in this rollover crash because of the proper use of seat belts and the proper fitting car seats."

The Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived and handled the investigation.

Due to the pole's damage, Mount Eaton Road was closed at the request of the power company.

Crews were on the scene for two and a half hours.

The announcement thanked dispatchers at Wayne County Communications, CenCom - Emergency Dispatch Center, the Wayne County Sheriff, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Edison and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
