Each year, the New Century Veterans Memorial board seeks new and corrected names for the memorial wall at the Young County Courthouse, and that deadline is approaching at the end of June.

The deadline to submit a new or corrected name for the memorial wall is Tuesday, June 25. New names and corrections can be provided by calling 940-549-5555, emailing toby@grahamattorney.com or sending a message to the Young County New Century Veterans Memorial Facebook page.

Those who are eligible to be named on the memorial are veterans or active duty military personnel who were inducted or served on or after Jan. 1, 2001, and whose DD214 or official personnel document shows their home address at time of entry or Home of Record as Young County.

The new century memorial wall was dedicated in 2018 to honor veterans who have served in the military since 2001. The memorial was placed next to the original Young County Veterans Memorial which was dedicated in 2000.
