Brian Laundrie's chilling diary entries and violent sketches exposed in FBI files

Chilling sketches by Brian Laundrie, the man behind the murder of his girlfriend Gabby Petito nearly three years ago and his subsequent suicide , have surfaced in FBI files that were recently made public .

The notes penned by Laundrie - whose mother has been dubbed an "evil mastermind' by Gabby's family - contained unsettling phrases like "trust no one" and "kill," accompanied by sketches of skulls.

These images were captured by the FBI during their search of Laundrie's family residence after Gabby's remains were located in a secluded campsite in Wyoming on 19 September 2021.

Gabby's family attorney, Brian Stewart, was taken aback by the disturbing content found in the drawings and writings of the 23-year-old , which were retrieved from the Laundrie household in Florida before Brian's body was discovered in a nature reserve in October. Stewart also condemned Laundrie as a 'narcissist' with a propensity for extreme violence.

Speaking to the New York Post, who secured the FBI documents through Freedom of Information requests, he said: "In retrospect, it tells us that Brian dealt with mental health issues and was clearly a narcissist and manipulator capable of violence," and he described the skull doodles by the murderer as "just scary."

In addition to Laundrie's eerie sketches, the FBI uncovered notebooks belonging to Gabby, along with an arsenal of hundreds of bullets, various magazines, a book, and documentation for Ruger. 380 and Glock 49 mm firearms, reports the Mirror US .

The agents also seized a compound bow equipped with a rifle scope, bolt-action rifle magazines, knuckle dusters, and several copies of The Watchtower, the publication of Jehovah's Witnesses.

A particularly chilling piece of evidence includes Laundrie's diary entries, which reveal his own violent tendencies and suicidal thoughts just months before he started dating Gabby. "About a year ago I went into a type of mania where I was smashing holes in the wall with my head, kicking through paintings, tearing whatever I was working on, pouring gasoline on myself to burn alive but getting the lighter wet, parking out in murderland listening to Mac [unclear, but may be 'DeMarco'] with a gun to my head, wrestling alligators," Laundrie penned in his diary on October 26, 2018.

"I wanted to die and the weird thing is nothing's changed, but the [timer's] running down," he continued. "Under the mattress I'm on is a loaded 357 magnum revolver. A pull of the trigger and all my problems will be over," he added.

Another undated entry in Laundrie's diary describes a nightmare he had, seemingly about Petito leaving him. "The ocean pours out of her blue eyes and the fire is out. With one word the pain is gone. 'Brian? ,' Oh how sweet she is to say we should get together, but you know when you walk out that door she'll be gone forever again," he wrote.

"You're back in the car, haunted by the eyes you'll never look into again," he noted.
